VICTORY OVER ANXIETY Pt.4

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

SHE'S BEEN WAITING TEN YEARS

William Marshall told the story of a woman who had been having trouble getting to sleep at night because she feared burglars.

One night her husband heard a noise in the house, so he went downstairs to investigate.

When he got there, he did find a burglar. “Good evening,” said the man of the house. “I am pleased to see you. Come upstairs and meet my wife. She has been waiting 10 years to meet you.”

The husband of this woman knew that his wife has had a fearful expectation of burglars coming to burgle their house, she may have confessed it severally but eventually, it happened after 10 years.

If you want to overcome anxiety, do not accept your fears neither should your confess it. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."(Prov18:21).

In Numbers13&14, when the twelve spies visited Canaan, ten out of twelve returned with a report of fear.

Fear and anxiety gripped them because they saw the giants. In their hearts, they must have imagined how fierce it will be engaging them in a battle.

The devil may be telling them not to proceed with their conquest. Not only that, he magnified their fears in their hearts. The report of these ten spies brought fear and anxiety into the camp of the Israelites.

Thank God for Caleb and Joshua. They voiced the opposite of what the other ten spies said. Even at that, the people contemplated stoning them because they believed the message of fear.

When God saw what happened and heard their confession, he said: "Now tell them this: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord , I will do to you the very things I heard you say." (Numbers 14:28 NLT). Even God couldn't help them. Why? They chose what they wanted through their confession.

In moments of despair, watch your words. If you say what the devil is saying, you'll get the result he desires.

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid (Isaiah8:12).

One common thing the devil does when you're anxious is that he gets your mind busy by talking to you. He's programming your mind with fear and imaginations of horror.

When it happens like that, start confessing what God's word says. You must learn to talk back to the devil. Our faith is a talking faith.

You don't close your mouth and stay mournful by accepting the verdict of the enemy over your life. Learn to reject evil thoughts and words by speaking out.

Talking out loud against your worries is one of the keys to overcoming anxiety. What are you saying?

CONFESSION: My fears are not real. It will never happen because they are not in line with God's word. I forbid all the evil imaginations and thoughts running through my mind in the name of Jesus Christ. I refuse to be a victim of the desires of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ.
