MARRIAGE IS GOD'S IDEA
The greatest institution under attack in the world today is marriage. I stand to be corrected on this. Satan is trying to make marriage look unappealing and frightening especially to singles.
Many singles are afraid to marry seeing what has become of many marriages including that of pastors. The fear is real.
Marriage has drawn the attention of all within and outside the church. As a preacher, I noticed that I get more responses when I preach on marriage than other subjects of the bible.
Most people enter into marriage with ideas that are alien to the bible because they don't know who instituted marriage and why He instituted it. This is the primary reason for the several marital failures we see today.
Marriage was not instituted by your village chiefs nor your government. Marriage is a sacred and divine institution founded by God.
The origin and originator of a thing is important If we are to have a good grasp of that thing. The founder of every institution has a vision and purpose. Every manufacturer who manufactured a product has a manual of operation for his product. Same applies to marriage.
If we must succeed in marriage, there's a need to see marriage from God's perspective or else we'll fail. Most marriages are troubled and failing because there's a deviation from the laid down pattern.
The best marriage manual still remains the bible. That's where we can find God's pattern for a successful marriage.
Today, most people want to hear messages like: ' Seven Keys To Marital Bliss'. They want quick fixes but not the bible. On the pages of the scriptures, you'll see God's pattern for successful marriage.
When I wanted to marry, I read alot about marriage and the strange woman from the book of Proverbs. I'm yet to see a book on marriage that gave explicit practical wisdom on how to handle the strange woman and marriage like Proverbs and other books of the bible.
It is impossible to have marital crisis If two persons in marriage are following the biblical pattern laid by God for marriage. Absolutely impossible.
When I see believers in Christ having marital crisis and breakdown, it is plausible one or the two persons involved are flouting biblical injunction on marriage.
Believers need thorough Christian discipleship than marriage seminars. Marriages of true disciples don't fail.
Failure to follow God's manual for life and marriage will lead to serious marital breakdown. Don't run your marriage according to the dictates of the society, public opinion or your culture, get into the manual- the bible.
Father, i shall not fail maritally In Jesus name.
