THE PATHWAY TO VICTORY (A)
We have examined several forces against victory over masturbation. Now is the time to look into the word for victory tips over masturbation. I will be systematic in this part of my teaching because I want you to digest each point at a time. No matter how bad your case may be, just know that victory is possible. In Christ, there's no perversion or addiction that can withstand the power of the cross and its principles. None whatsoever.
The first and primary pathway to victory over masturbation is daily renewal of the mind through God's word. The greatest sexual organ is the mind. The content of the mind is what we act out in real life because the mind is the seat of our will, emotion and intellect. When the mind is dysfunctional, the tendency to develop bad habits and addictions becomes very high. The mind works with what has been programmed into it. If you program the word of God into your mind daily and you allow it to sink, gradually, you'll build a mind that is word-controlled and lust(that drives masturbation) will lose its grip gradually. As you meditate on the word daily, an internal transformation occurs: "Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long", Psalm119:97.
Apostle Paul enjoined that: "...whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things", Phil4:8. The primary source of where you can find noble things to think about is the word of God. Make a decision to study your bible daily( several times in a day), meditate and concentrate on it. Let your heart be fixed on it. Make notes where necessary, memorize, and pray the lessons you've learnt into your life. Just as you've taken time to put junks into your mind and concentrate on them, just replace the process with the word. The word of God has purifying power: "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word", Psalm119:9.
Make the study of God's word a daily habit and stop feeding your mind with whatever fuels lust.
