GOD MAY GIVE ME WHO I DON'T LIKE
One of the reasons why some singles loath the idea of being led by God on the choice of whom to marry is because they have the fear in them that God may give them a spouse they don't like. I have heard this complaint severally. For example, a brother may think that God will tell him to marry a sister he is not attracted to physically. That's not true as some persons has made us believe. Those with this mentality do not trust God's judgement on the matter of their marriage so they relegate God in their decision making to satisfy their carnal desires only.
Some are yet to fully trust in God's love. They see God as a distant task master who do not care but our opening text proves them wrong. In Matthew 7:9-11, Jesus said, "You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him". Hallelujah!!! Jesus has cleared your doubts and erased your fears.
If our earthly fathers can strive to give us the best, how much more our heavenly father. When you ask God to lead you on the choice of a spouse, his leading is perfect and he'll give you what suits your life( spiritual, physical, material, etc) and destiny so that you can fulfill his purpose for your life here on earth. It is a total package. God gives us what we need and not necessarily what we want. What he gives is the best. Trust God's judgement on the matter of your marriage that he'll give you the best. If you can't trust God to lead you aright on marital issues, how can you trust him with your life?
Father, forgive me for not trusting you enough to give me the best. Your best is good for me and I submit myself to be led by you in Jesus name.
