SOS2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
FORCES AGAINST VICTORY (C)
The devil is not a bondage breaker, he seeks to perpetuate his victims in their bondages. Sometimes, he uses tricks and fear to keep his victims bound. Another force against victory is fear of reaction from the counselor. One of the reasons why those who masturbate keep to themselves may not be pride neither is it the desire for secrecy. Actually, some want to share their ordeal and confide in someone but the fear of reaction from the counselor is making them keep to themselves Sometimes, the way some counselors handled some issues have sent the wrong signal to others. This also happens at home. Sometimes, children and teenagers hide their struggles from their parents because of the fear of negative and immature reaction from their parents.
Among the brethren, there are situations where confidence kept with a fellow believer became a talk of the church. Some persons are known to gossip under the guise of "shall we pray for bro XXX". From there, they open up the secrets of others. Tale bearers kill relationship. A false man soweth contention; and a talebearer separateth very friends,Prov16:28. Some Pastors use their counselees ordeal as illustrations on the altar right in their presence. These things fuel fears in people and they keep mute. Lest I forget, the holier-than-thou attitude some brethren put up in the place of counsel fuel the fear of reaction from victims. Stop acting this way when God brings his children who are struggling to you. I want to encourage ministers reading this. You need to learn to exercise restraint in the way you talk. When talking is too much, you'll end up saying things you shouldn't say. Also, develop shock-absorber for life issues. Don't join your counselee to cry when you ought to give hope. Be calm and composed.
If you're caught in this trap of fear, you must know it is a ploy of the enemy to keep you bound. The very first thing you need do is to cast out the spirit of fear. Sometimes, what you're afraid of is not real. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline, 2Tim1:7. After casting out the spirit of fear, you need to ask God to lead you to someone you can confide in. You can trust the Holy Spirit on this. God knows the best confidant for each occasion. The persons you thought are mature may be the wrong candidates at that time. Don't allow fear cage you and keep you in perpetual bondage.
Father,I receive total deliverance from the spirit of fear in Jesus name.
