A brother in the Lord told me about a preacher who proudly proclaimed on the pulpit that he could not be swayed into sexual immorality by fair-skinned women. Satan, being an opportunist, took note and set a trap for him without delay.

That very night, a female member of the congregation reached out to him in distress and requested his presence to offer prayers. Without hesitation, he foolishly grabbed his Bible and made his way to her home unaccompanied - lacking any form of chaperone or accountability.

When he got there, this sister was alone and she pretended to be sick. The whole prayer session ended on the bed. He fell into sexual sin with a fair sister who seduced him.  

As a believer, the strength to stay sexually pure in this immoral and depraved world is beyond what human energy can muster. We don't boast about our ability to stay pure from the standpoint of the flesh.

The bible says, "He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness. “It is not by strength that one prevails;"(1Sam2:9).

To prevail daily over the forces of immorality, you need a different strength that is purely  divine not mental,physical or strength of will power alone.

Over-confidence in the flesh is the reason many fall flat. Why take risk such as cohabiting with a lady you're not married to thinking you will never fall? You see, it may not happen in the first six months. Satan can permit that to reinforce your confidence in the flesh but the plan to mess you up is set in motion already.

One day, it will happen suddenly after Satan has messed with your mind over time. Sexual sin is worth running from, you don't wait for it to come close thinking you have the strength to overcome it.

Living a sexually pure life is not a mystical feat, but rather, it is founded upon principles derived from scripture that have stood the test of time. While knowledge and implementation of various practices may aid in this pursuit, as believers we must recognize that the grace and fortitude necessary to maintain sexual purity can only be attained through continuous communion with the Holy Spirit. Indeed, He serves as our enabler for leading a life marked by chastity.

One cannot remain morally upright amidst the depravity of this current era solely through their own fortitude. The fleshly desires are all too eager to seize any opportunity for expression, despite our efforts to resist them. This task is particularly arduous given the perversity that pervades our society today. Hence, only a celestial force can endow us with the strength to deny these temptations and utter a resolute "No."

Apostle Paul said, "For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh"(Phil3:3). That's why no man should boast in his strength or ability. We are strengthened to stand by the most high.

Plug into the source of strength for purity in the place of deep fellowship. The man that pants after God sincerely will not pant after the things of  flesh especially sexual immorality. Walking with God one day at a time makes sin irritating; no man ever get to that point without a solid altar.
