In the fashion world, when new and unique designs are to be released, the services of fashion models are employed to display new designs to lovers of trends and other fashion designers. From there, people start sewing the kinds of design displayed by models.

Outside the world of fashion, everyone is influenced by models consciously or unconsciously. We pick certain attitudes, mannerisms and perspectives from those we give attention. Max Jukes was a bad model to his children and grand children until the fifth generation. Ungodliness became their life pattern.

Jonathan Edward was a model of Christ-like character and this imparted his generation to the fifth. The power and influence modeling for the next generation is one of the tools of shaping culture, attitudes and perspectives because children and those coming behind us learn by imitaton principally.

If we want to raise a generation that will love and live like Christ, we must model it to them as we teach it because preaching&teaching alone is not enough. We must be models of what we teach. If they cannot see Christ in us and through us, they may never live like him and for him.

Paul, the apostle of grace understood the power of modeling. He knew that there was a tendency for his readers and listeners not to understand Christ so he became a model of Christ-likeness and told the Corinthian believers to imitate him as he imitated Christ.

Are you bold to tell your children to live their lives like you? Will you be proud of your children If they start talking, thinking and behaving like you? I have seen bad models who want their children to be good and well mannered. They acknowledge they are bad and corrupt but they want it different for their children.As long as they see you in that state, they may take after you.

As a parent, you have to become for yourself what you want to see in your children.

Model the life of Christ to them for them to live like Christ. Let Christ be seen in you.
