HOW TO REST IN PEACE*

*Isaiah 57:2 For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die*( NLT).

"Rest in peace" is a common mantra used when people die. It has become a line used by both believers and unbelievers when a loved one dies. However, will all departed soul rest in peace?

As an aside, I hope you know that praying for the dead or giving offerings on behalf of those that are dead is a wasted effort? Yes it is. The bible says, "And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment" ( Hebrews 9:27 NLT).

After death, the next thing is judgement. Prayer cannot stop the due reward of a dead person neither can offerings shorten the punishment of those departed. The only time prayer works is when one is alive. After death, judgement is next.

Further, you need to know that the mantra "Rest in peace" should not be a prayer. I see it as a compliment used for the dead. If your mindset while making that statement is that you are praying for the dead, you're in the wrong. It cannot change the fate of the dead.

How can we truly rest in peace after we are gone? The answer is in the opening text( Isaiah 57:2) which says, "For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die". Did you see it?Only those who follow godly path through Christ will rest in peace.

The man who dies without Jesus cannot rest in peace. Until the prince of peace becomes the Lord of your life, you cannot rest in peace after you are gone.

Dearest, is Jesus the Lord of your life? I am inviting you to accept the gift of eternal life into your life. That is the only way you can experience peace and joy both here and thereafter. Come to Jesus.

Action Point:

Father, I know I am a sinner. Forgive me and wash me with the blood of Jesus. I confess him as my Lord&Saviour. Thank you for accepting me, in Jesus name, Amen.
