AS IT IS IN HEAVEN Pt.1
Matthew 6:9-10 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. KJV
Most of us are very familiar with the phrase used for this topic. I lifted it from the popular Lord's prayer when Jesus taught His disciples to pray.
In that prayer, He taught His disciples to pray that God's will be done on earth as it is heaven. Very profound. That is to say, God expect us to walk in His will on earth just as it is in heaven.
So, If we must walk in His will on earth, we need to know the way it is in heaven. Most of the happenings on earth aren't happening in heaven. The current state of the world doesn't reflect the state of things in heaven.
Having a true picture of how it is in heaven( by the word) will reveal to us what His will should be on earth
If there's no record of sickness, earthquakes, volcanic eruption, untimely death etc in heaven, then it can never be God's will on earth. Take that from me.
Oftentimes, when disasters happen here on earth, people call it an "Act of God". That's labelling God wrongly.
How can God, who sits in heaven where there's no disaster be the author of a disaster on earth?
If it were, then it means that every time there's an earthquake, volcanic eruption, tsunami, a woman is raped, or a child is molested, or a father is murdered, then it would have to be the will of God. That kind of thinking is absolutely absurd!
Whatever you cannot find in heaven that is happening on earth is not and can never be from God.
Often, we confuse God's permission for His commission. That God permits a thing to happen for reasons best known to Him doesn't mean He commissioned it.
What most people fail to realize is that Satan is running the world. I didn't say he owns the world because the bible says, "The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein" (Psalm 24:1 KJV). Hallelujah!!!
What I'm saying is that presently, the world we live in is his territory of operation. If not, we wouldn't have some countries legalizing abortion, LGBTQ, and other things that can't be found in heaven.
Paul says, "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them"( 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV)
Satan is the god of this world. He is gifting men what he has: perversion, pain, sickness, frustration, depression, accident etc. This is because as it is in hell, so he want it to be on earth for men.
When did Satan become the god of this world? The answer can be traced to the book of Genesis. God put Adam in-charge of the garden and by extension, the world. He was the god of this world in a sense.
When he sinned, he gave Satan the right to become the god of this world. Adam had the legal right to do so but do not have the moral right to do so as Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory would say.
Since the fall, Satan began to run the affairs of the world. When he tempted Jesus, to prove that he has a stake in the affairs of this world, the bible says, "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him ALL THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD, AND THE GLORY OF THEM; and saith unto him, All these things WILL I GIVE THEE, if thou wilt fall down and worship me"( Matthew 4:8-9 KJV).
If you just read that, you will see that the tone of Satan's statement sounded like someone who has a stake in the affairs of this world.
Some persons felt he was exaggerating by ascribing to himself the ability to give the kingdoms of this world to Jesus.
No, he wasn't. Paul confirmed him as the god of this world. That's why Jesus came to redeem and restore man back to the way things were in the beginning.
When you see the evils happening around you, as a student of the bible, you should know where it is coming from and person behind it- Satan.
We are caught in-between the forces of darkness that want to enforce the happenings of their kingdom on us and the force of light where we belong. We must rise against it. This is warfare not funfare.
The will of God in heaven which Jesus want us to pray into reality on earth is totally opposed to the will of Satan on earth.
We have a choice in this matter, either to pray the will of God as it is in heaven to happen to us while on earth or to accept the will of Satan happen to us.
I reject the latter, I choose the former.
CONFESSION: I choose the will of God for my life. As it is in heaven, let it happen to me on earth. I refuse the will of hell and darkness over my life in Jesus name.
