LIVING IN PLENTY DURING SCARCITY Pt.3

Galatians 6:7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant ( NLT).

GIVE YOUR WAY INTO PLENTY

My experience before and during COVID lockdown will remain fresh in my memory forever. It looked like a time of hopelessness but obedience to the covenant rescued me.

Prior to the lockdown, my wife and I drew a cheque in favour of a woman of God we wanted to bless. When it was rumoured that there'll be a lockdown, the cheque was cleared. Our account read red.

Fear gripped our hearts. The little we had left, we gave people from it and used proceeds of my e-book for palliatives. Practically, we fed whole families and some depended on us for their meal almost all through that period.

At the onset of lockdown, things were slow but after awhile, God sent supplies monthly. Sometimes, twice or thrice monthly, we received divine salaries paid into our account through those God sent to us. We didn't beg or ask them. They did it willingly.

I have never seen anything like that before in my life. At a time, my mum asked where I got money from when she heard what I did by giving palliatives. God surprised me beyond my imagination.

The issue of giving remains controversial among those who want to sound politically right. This is because of the several abuses and extremes taught and practiced by some preachers.

Child of God, no matter what the world or critics say about this covenant practice, it is valid biblically. I have tested and tried it. It works as God designed it. I am proudly a giver.

Giving is one of the "foolishness" of God that makes for increase. I love this "foolishness" because it produces result. Even though my motive for giving is love( which should be for everyone) yet God has never failed in sending the harvest.

I love this quote by Bro Azeez Ogunkoya: "Sow like a fool and reap as the wise". The bible confirms this.

Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed ( Proverbs 11:24-25 NLT).

This is an incontrovertible truth in scripture. There are numerous scriptures that give backing to this covenant practice. That some persons abuse it or go to extremes on it shouldn't discourage you from doing it rightly.

As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”( Genesis 8:22 NLT).

The law of seed-time and harvest remains valid till the world ends. God's design is that we sow to harvest. In every harvest, there is a seed.

Action point

Those who eat their seed with their harvest will never have any harvest. Those who hoard God's blessings end up having nothing. Let giving be your lifestyle.
