John5:14 But afterward Jesus found him in the Temple and told him, “Now you are well; so stop sinning, or something even worse may happen to you( NLT).
Some persons are disturbed about why they lost their healing and miracles days after meetings. This has made some persons conclude healings and miracles we see were staged or just a temporary thing.
Let me share my personal experience. In 2005, I was healed of a sharp pain on my chest in an anointing service. I knew God healed me. Later, after some years, I felt the sharp pain again.
The devil made me feel my healing was a hoax but I shut him up. Ever since then, I have seen people who had similar experience. I have seen people who received divine healing and miracles experience a relapse.
Sometimes, people think that if healing occurs and the healed person experiences relapse, maybe the preacher is not genuine or probably the healing was not authentic but that's not the case often. Some were healed through prayer but they died after. That is not the will of God.
In John 5:14, after Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethsaida, he told him: "..., “Now you are well; so stop sinning, or something even worse may happen to you." The instruction was clear. Jesus told him to stop sinning so that the worse won't happen to him.
The tense used is a continuous tense- "sinning". That is, if he makes a practice of sinning, the devil would bring a worse calamity upon him. There is a lesson there for us all.
Jesus healed him and it was evident to all but the words of Jesus implied that there was a possibility of losing his healing if he continues in sin. This is plain and simple.
What you need to understand is that sin gives the enemy entrance to torment the lives of people. If you pray or you're prayed for and God intervened, do not play with sin.
The devil always use every opportunity to strike back. He is not happy that you're living in health. He is not happy that the power of God prevailed over that health challenge.
The moment you step out of line and remain there, the latter attack may be worse than the former.
Father, I shall not lose my healing and miracles to carelessness in Jesus name.
