Isaiah1:19 If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat ( NLT)
LOCATION IS IMPORTANT
The diamond acre story illustrates this very important point. Some of us have read or heard this story before. There was a farmer who toiled on his farm but couldn't breakthrough.
He heard about another land where people mine diamond and make fortune from sales of diamond. He decided to sell his farmland in other to raise money for his trip and relocation. Eventually he did.
The new owner of his farmland cultivated that land and found a gemstone but he didn't know exactly what it was. He showed it round and they confirmed to him it was a diamond.
Overnight, he became a multi millionaire because his field had diamond. He became a diamond merchant. The old owner lost an opportunity by changing his location. What he sought for in a strange land was on his farmland.
Genesis 26 tells a similar story about Isaac.
During famine, there was a mass exodus of people to Egypt. Using modern metrics, it is safe to say there was economic recession then. People relocated for greener pastures.
However, God knew the "plenty" of Isaac was tied to staying in Gerar so He was instructed to stay back and he obeyed. The bible says: "When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the Lord blessed him. He became a very rich man, and his wealth continued to grow. He acquired so many flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, and servants that the Philistines became jealous of him (Genesis 26:12-14 NLT).
Every provision is tied to a specific location. When you miss your divine location, you'll surely miss divine allocation.
The wisdom you need in times of scarcity is to ask God to show you the location where your provisions are. Very important. Your meal is not anywhere. Sometimes, it is in the least expected place where people do not want to stay.
During famine, God instructed Elijah to relocate to brook Cherith because his provision was there to be delivered by a raven(1Kings 17:3). That sounds weird. Who goes to the brooks to get food during famine?
However, Elijah's location for divine provision was at the brook Cherith. If he had stayed where he was, he may have died of hunger.
Can you ask God to show you the land of your provision? In scarcity, it can work bothways. It is either God tells you to stay like Isaac or he tells you to move like Elijah. In fact, Elijah changed location twice at God's behest.
Relocation is not bad If the order is from God. You can relocate to your God-ordained location so as to get your provision. Staying back is also not bad If God instruct.
Relocating to a place where He didn't send you is an invitation to fruitless toil and slavery. Staying where He didn't ordain is an invitation to hunger.
To find your "plenty" in times of scarcity, you can either be like Elijah or Isaac. Find out from God.
Prayerfully find your divine location.
