All humans have the tendency to be influenced by his immediate sphere of contact. When watching football, I notice that I talk and shout in a way I wouldn't have done on a normal day. If I do that while in my room, people around may think I'm mad but when watching football in a crowd, my companions influence me to shout and jump in a weird way.

If you walk with those that disregard God, church service, tithing and other practices in the Christian faith, you may come under their influence. In our walk with God, we need like minds. Somehow, if you walk with believers that have heaven as their focus, it will rub on your.
You have to be selective in your relationship, don't chose friends that doesn't see anything wrong in compromise. Not every one in the church can be your companion because not all are practising the bible. If you want to grow in God, walk with those that are committed to growing their spiritual life.
