Psalms119:Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Every young man has a common challenge with the control of his mind to think pure thoughts, controlling the eyes to behold what's is sane and controlling the ears from hearing what is just. It is common in both sexes but for a young man, things appeal to his sense of sight more, especially the opposite sex. The battle every man is fighting with sin especially immorality starts from the mind.
Paul admonished us to renew our mind daily with God's word (Rom12:1-2). The secret of purity for the young man whose attention is drawn to carnal things is by taking heed to God's word. The temptations a young man face is so peculiar to the stage of life in which he finds himself. Sometimes, he looks helpless but when God's word fills his heart, he won't stray.
David knew that the enemy's prime target is young men, and if he can keep them away from the word, he has ruined their lives and destinies. Dear young man reading this devotional, God has designed you to take the lead and be a shinning star for him but the devil is doing all within his power to stop you with sin. He tried on Joseph and failed but he succeeded on Samson.
The only scriptural antidote against impurity of heart and character is to take heed or be a doer of God's word.
Father, I receive grace to be a doer of God's word In Jesus name. Amen
