Hebrews12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
When players are playing on the field of play especially when competing for a trophy, the spectators would be watching with rapt attention. All eyes would be focused on the players and amongst the spectators, there are people who probably were once a player. Some spectators have a good knowledge of the game and they'll want to see how the players would compete favourably.
There are men on the grandstands watching us as well. They are referred to as cloud of witnesses, they have sojourned here before and they faced similar challenges like we are facing now, yet they made it. All eyes are on us, in heaven, there won't be any excuse for failure in our walk with God here on earth.
If you fall into the sin of immorality because you were tempted, remember that Joseph was faced with the same temptation yet he overcame. Even Jesus was tempted in EVERY WAY yet, he was without sin. If those that have gone ahead succeeded, then we can succeed by his grace. All we need do is to run the race with patience.
Father, I receive grace to run the race with patience In Jesus name. Amen
