Psalms3:2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.(3) But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Recently, I was discussing with someone. He told me about how someone we both know needed God's mercy in his life because without God's intervention in his life, his joy won't be full. There are issues in life that makes men to give-up on people and they may even say God has deserted such a fellow.
David got to that point in his life where men said God couldn't help him. He fought fierce battles right from his youths, in fact he didn't start with cheap oppositions but he started with the lions, bears and ultimately Goliath. The only courage left in David spoke out and he said: But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory the lifter of my head.
When the battles of life comes hitting hard at you and you cry to God saying this is more than I can bear, just remember that the only potent help you have is in God. Until you stop trying means to help yourself, you cannot benefit from God's help fully. God should be your shield and the lifter of your head if only you allow him.
Father, let your glory cover my life and let help rise for me In Jesus name.
