HANDLING CONFUSION AND DIRECTION Pt.1

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION

In the course of counseling and teaching the word, I have met people who claimed to be confused on what God is saying to them either on marriage or ministry. Most times, I'm surprised when some persons in this category claim to have heard God but are still confused. It is often common to hear singles talk about being confused on marital matters. Ministers or those intending to start ministry are not excluded from this. What could be the reason for confusion after hearing God? The very first truth that we must settle in our hearts is that God is not the author of confusion: "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."(1Cor14:33). It is not possible for confusion and divine direction to coexist if truly we have heard God.

The purpose of God's leading is not to bring confusion but to bring clarity to grey areas of our lives. If God is not the author of confusion then we know the author is the devil. The nature of God's goodness forbids the coexistence of confusion and direction. God's promise of leading you and me is comprehensive: "I will INSTRUCT thee and TEACH thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will GUIDE thee with mine eye."(Psalm 32:8 KJV). In this promise that you just read, God didn't include confusion in the package. It is a promise to instruct, teach and guide. This is the nature of God's leading, confusion is not in the package.

When Christ told us about the guiding work of the Spirit, He said, "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future."(John16:13). Hallelujah!!! The Holy Spirit is not a confuser. So where is confusion coming from? The moment you realize that confusion is an attack from hell to derail you from making the right choice(s), you'll stand against it. Don't side with the devil by agreeing that God's leading brings confusion. Henceforth, anytime you're confused, rebuke the demon of confusion and stay action on whatever you intend doing until you find a clear leading through inward witness of the Spirit.

CONFESSION: I refuse to be confused. I am not a candidate of confusion. Arrow of confusion fired into my life is hereby destroyed in Jesus name. I'll walk in the exactness of God's plan for my life in all areas and I'll get it right in Jesus name.
