2Tim4:11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry. NIV
Years back, on my way to Benin city, there was traffic on the high way. Some passengers alighted to ease themselves in the bush. Not long after, there was a steady but slow movement. There was a senior secondary school girl who was heavily pressed but for reasons best known to her, she didn't tell the driver to wait for her. Some of us saw that she felt uneasy in the bus. The driver asked if he should park beside the road for her, she refused. As we approached a police check point, her mother pled on her behalf but it was late. By the time she alighted, faeces decorated her waist line. The mother was ashamed. Some passengers rallied to help clean her mess. She tied her mother's head-tie around her waist from that spot till we got to Benin city.
Though the odour didn't leave the bus till we got to Benin, I learnt a great lesson that day while laughing at the drama between her and her mother. In life, if you need help, do not be shy to ask for it. Apostle Paul, a kingdom enigma, a custodian of kingdom mysteries requested that John Mark should join him on his missionary trips because he was helpful to him. The same John Mark was the reason why he parted ways with Barnabas after a sharp disagreement in Acts15:35-41. Barnabas wanted John Mark to accompany them on their missionary journies but Paul refused because he dumped them at Perga. Later, Paul realized how helpful John Mark was to his ministry. Mark's resourcefulness may not be documented but I'm sure Paul's ministry benefitted greatly from him.
If you have a vision that is worth pursuing, do not be shy to ask for help. Jesus in his omnipotence could have ran his earthly ministry alone but he had men and women who provided some support for his ministry(Luke8:1-4) and he discipled them in return so that they can carry on after him. Don't forget that divine help comes first(Psalms121:1-2) followed by the help of humans but none comes without asking. No one would know you need help if you don't ask for it. Stop pretending to be strong when your strength is failing, do not pretend to know all when you don't have adequate knowledge. Great visions have died and dreams unfulfilled because someone refused to seek relevant help. Some marriages crashed because of failure to ask for help. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is a trait common to great minds.
Look at areas of your life where you're under performing or not producing result, ask for help from those who can put you through.
