THE SALVATION QUESTION IN THE HEARTS OF PEOPLE

April 02, 2020 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Acts16:33 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" NIV

I watched a video sometimes ago. It was titled: "Kumbh Mela". The video was about Hindu worship and their annual celebration that attracts over 80million people. This celebration is done for about a week in India. From all over India, the people came to the Ganges river to bath and pour ashes on their head so that their sins can be washed away. This they do every festival without an assurance of salvation. What led them to that? It is because of the question of their heart.

Man has been asking this question right from after the fall: "what must I do to be saved"?. The search for answer is the reason why man resolved to go the way of 'religion' instead of redemption. Every religion of the world is making probable attempt to offer salvation but they are not sure if there's salvation in what they are offering. Hence they have failed. Why? Because the scripture says: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name( except the name of Jesus) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". Acts 4:12 KJV. Emphasis mine.

Let me give you the answer to the salvation question: "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house". Acts 16:31 KJV. Jesus is the answer to the salvation question of humanity. All you need to do is to believe him. Believe in the purpose of his death( for sins) and the power of his blood to cleanse you. If you can believe and confess it, you will be saved.

INVITATION TO SALVATION

Father, I believe in Jesus and what he did for me on the cross. Jesus, wash my sins and write my name in the book of life. I confess you as my Lord and personal saviour. Accept me, In Jesus name.
