Years back, I was traveling to the northern part of Nigeria for an outreach. When we got to a stop over town, i entered one of the restaurants to eat. After I finished eating, I requested for additional sachet of water after paying for the first one given to me when I was served my meal. I heard a voice inside me telling me that if I don't pay for the extra sachet of water I received, I would have to restitute that amount some day when passing through that route. That got me, the voice sounded religious. I knew it would be stressful coming from Lagos to restitute for one sachet of water so I reached for my purse and I offered to pay. The food vendor refused the money. I asked why. She said the money I paid for my main meal covered for the extra sachet of water. Huuh!
I left that place with a holy anger against the devil. I thought I heard the Holy Spirit speaking to me not knowing it was the voice of accusation I heard. If the lady had not told me that my initial payment covered for the extra sachet of water, I may have left that place with a wounded conscience thinking I had done something wrong. Again, what fueled that thought in me were the books I read that time. I read some books by hell returnees so I began to live in fear and with a feeling of inadequacy. The devil took advantage of that to always make me see how inadequate I was. I battled with those thoughts for months. The devil may keep accusing me of what is not real. I believe God wanted to reveal to me one of the tricks of the enemy. There are religious spirits that speak to people seeking to control them and put them under bondage of guilt and condemnation.
The devil can make you have a bad day if you accept his accusations. Kenneth E. Hagin of blessed memory told the story of people who came to him telling him that they had committed the unpardonable sin. The thoughts of guilt can cause depression and that's what the devil want to achieve. Once you believe the blood of Jesus is not enough to wash your sins away, you'll always bow your head to the devil's accusations. The devil never stops accusing us. He can dig out a forgiven and forgotten sin and bring the picture to your face. In Jesus, we have complete forgiveness not partial. Learn to speak back to the voice of accusation saying, "the Lord rebuke thee".
Father, I rebuke the spirit accusing me night and day. I step into the righteousness of Christ given to me and I declare my freedom from guilt and condemnation in the mighty name of Jesus.
