Gen14:20- And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hands. Then Abram gave him(Melchisedec) a tenth of everything.
IS TITHING MOSAIC?
Did tithe originate from the levitical laws that God gave Moses? NO. The first man that paid tithe was Abram, he lived in the pre-mosaic era before the law was given,he paid tithe to Melchisedec who was a TYPE OF CHRIST. Heb5:6,6:20,7:1-12.
So tithe was a pre-mosaic faith practice transferred into the levitical laws but DID NOT originate with the levitical laws.
Gal3:7 made it clear that those of us who are born-again are children of Abraham. If Abraham is truly our father in the faith(which he is), then we must do(pay tithe) what our father did except we're bastards.
Abraham paid tithe to Priest Melchisedec who is a type of Christ, then when you pay tithe, have it in mind that you are paying it to your High Priest(Christ) through your church. Heb7:8
Isa51:2- Look to (Imitate) Abraham, your father,..(Emphasis mine).
