Heb7:18-19- The former regulation is set aside because it was WEAK and USELESS...for the LAW made nothing perfect, and a better hope is introduced by which we draw near to God.
WEAK AND USELESS
Our walk with God in the New testament dispensation is a spirit-led relationship with God not a walk of rules and regulations. In Gal5:18, Paul made it clear that living a Spirit-led life has excluded you from obeying the law. And what does it mean to live a Spirit-led life? By manifesting the fruit of the Spirit.
Whenever I read some of those laws, I marvel If any of us can fulfil it. God told priests to keep long beards, eat some of the burnt offerings(which we don't do anymore),etc. As a preacher, I wonder If my audience would love to see me with bushy beards.
Christ has brought to us a better hope. Anyone that makes you feel you have to work or do something special to attain forgiveness and righteousness other than to believe&accept Jesus christ and live a Spirit-led life, such a fellow is in error.
Friends, you can't keep the law, switch to the grace lane.
I walk in grace and not in the law In Jesus Name.
