Years back, I read a book titled: "Seven Great Prayer Warriors." In the book, I read about revived men whose prayer lives touched the heavens. I also read other classics about the prayer culture of some men who wrought terrible things in righteousness. It was said about one of them that he prayed to the extent that God's presence filled the room and he felt his body was being pumped like a vulcanizer will pump a tyre. He said: "take thy hands off thy servant because your servant can burst"( Paraphrase). In church history, a man prayed to the extent that he was nicknamed Camel's knees because his knees had patterns from long hours of kneeling in the place of prayer.
One of the marks of a revived life is consistent, vibrant and virile prayer life. I noticed that it is easy to pray corporately but it is not easy to pray alone. Private prayer life is the test of a sound prayer life. That hunger to be alone with God in prayers is a pointer to a revived prayer life. To be revived, you must pray yourself into revival after which you have to keep praying to stay revived. There's so much emphasis on praying for corporate and national revival in the body of Christ. That's only possible if revived men with revived prayer lives come together to pray. William Seymour, Aimee Semple McPherson and a group of some believers prayed down what we know today as Azusa street revival. Some of them prayed putting their heads in crates. They were lost in prayer. When revived men come together to pray, birthing a corporate revival becomes easy.
If you're lazy in the place of private prayer, you need revival. If someone is still monitoring your prayer life to ensure you pray after several years of being in Christ, you need a revival. Revived men don't use prayer as a tool of enemy assassination but they see prayer as a means of connecting to divinity to enforce God's will in the natural realm. If you want God to use you mightily, it can't happen without prayer. To be much for God, you have to be much with Him in the place of prayer. If you've been falling and rising in your Christian walk, prayer and the word will help attain stability. Prayer will stop you from sinning and sin will stop you from praying. We are at the losing end when our prayer lives are sloppy and dull. Ask God to revive your prayer altar today.
Father, I ask that you revive my prayer life. I'm tired of being lazy in the place of prayer. Lord, strengten my feeble knees and cause me to rise in the strength of the Spirit in Jesus name
