THE MIRACULOUS
We cannot divorce the manifestation of the miraculous from revival. Revived lives are God-seekers not miracle seekers yet their lives manifest great miracles. In the early church, when revival fire rested upon each soul in the upper room and spread to others, the manifestation of miracles became the norm. They did not fake it neither did they arrange it. They carried proofs that showed that Jesus Christ is alive everywhere they went. Starting from the beautiful gate, the man that was crippled began to walk. The revival fire burned greatly in Peter to the extent that his shadow began to heal the sick (Acts 5:15-16). Paul's mantle (lifeless object) carried a huge deposit of the anointing and through it, demons left (Acts19:20). The outflow of miracles from the life of a revived man is to prove the Lordship of Christ and glorify God. Revived men don't advertise miracles, they call attention of the people to Jesus.
You may say I've only cited examples of those in the five fold ministry office, what about lay men in the church. A revived man is not a lay man. When they wanted to choose deacons who would oversee the sharing of food, the simple requirements were,"full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom"(Acts6:3). Those requirements describe a revived a person. In the early church, no duty was seen as "unspiritual", what was required of the prayer team member was required of the food distributor. In Acts 6:8, this is how they described one of the food distributors: "Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people." He was so revived to the extent that he gave a sound defence of the gospel and was stoned to death. Another food distributor went to a city in Samaria and turned it upside down: "When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was great joy in that city."( Acts 8: 6-8).
When revival comes, there won't be lay men anymore. In revival history, miracles are not excluded from frequent happenings. Whether you're called to operate in the five fold ministry or not, as long as you're a child of God and you have the interest of the kingdom at heart, God can use you to perform miracles. It has nothing to do with ordination. While some are seeking men to lay hands on them and give them a neck- collar, you can stay in the presence of God for him to lay His hand on you and fill you with kingdom power. The world needs to know that Jesus is still alive. The easiest way to prove this without long exegesis is when the miraculous is displayed. The early church witnessed great conversions because the Lord backed their witnessing with signs and wonder.
