Acts 8:4 But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. NLT
THEY REACHED THE UNREACHED
In Acts 8, a great persecution against the believers in Jerusalem arose. Due to this, they scattered to other parts of the world. They had evangelized in Jerusalem and Christianity was established but they failed to go to Judea, Samaria and uttermost part of earth ( referring to Gentile nations) as was required of them in Acts 1:8. God permitted persecution so that they can spread the message of the gospel to the unreached people groups outside Jerusalem. What I love about them was the fact that they didn't drop the passion for souls in their native land.
As they traveled to peoples of other nations, tribes and tongues, they preached the gospel there. It was through that means the gospel spread to Asia, Africa, Europe and other parts of the world. In two years, they covered the continent of Asia: "And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks."(Acts 19:10 KJV) When the early believers received the fire of revival, they became mobile missionaries. They didn't wait for some missionaries to solicit for support to take the gospel to the unreached, they became missionaries themselves.
The Spirit behind revival is the Spirit of missions to the unreached nations of the world. You cannot be revived and you'll disdain Christian missions to the unreached people groups of the world. Some still wonder why we spend so much money, time, energy to reach the unreached. In the minds of some, they may see it as going to the extreme. I've heard a preacher expressed such view before. Jesus ( God the son) went to the extreme for our salvation. He left his glory in heaven, came to the unreached world as a missionary just to seek and save the lost so that he can offer us eternal life. There's no other sacrifice that any of us will pay that can be greater than the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. There's no other time for this than now as over 70,000 die daily without hearing about Jesus Christ.
Father, revive me.
