1Peter2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.NLT
A king adopted one of his servants. In the royal law of his kingdom, anyone the king adopt becomes like one of his biological sons and is accorded the same honour, respect and right. The adopted servant found it hard to understand what it meant to be adopted into the royal family. On one occasion, he decided to visit the slave quarters. On getting there, he forgot his new status and stripped himself of every emblem of royalty. He began to sleep in one of the rooms in the slave quarters. The other servants were not comfortable with his presence because they knew he was a bonafide prince by virtue of his adoption.
News got to the king that his adopted slave had pitched his tent in the slave quarters. The king sent a word to him saying, “You have a royal status now, you don’t belong there”. That statement brought him back to his senses and he began to live like royalty afterwards. Most of us are like that adopted slave. When we came to Christ, we were adopted(Romans8:15) as sons into God’s family and made joint heir with Christ(Romans8:17). Jesus is the only begotten of the father but we were adopted into sonship through the precious blood of the lamb. Now we can boldly declare our new status to the princes and principalities of the darkness that our status has changed and we are royalty.
When we came to Christ, our status changed. You are specially chosen by God, you’re not second fiddle. You are a royal priesthood. It won’t be wrong if we address you as ‘Your royal highness’. Many believers don’t know who they are, that’s why they’re living below the standard of redemption. You are a new creation in Christ, Satan has no right to dominate you except you permit him, Romans6:14. In this your new life(1John5:13), you are wired to live above sin, sickness and oppression because the life of God is in you. The devil knows your new status, that’s why he is attacking you. He knows that he would be in trouble if you understand your new status in Christ and take advantage of it. Refuse to live below your new status. You are royalty.
CONFESSION: I am a new creation in Christ, my status has changed. I have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear son. The life of God is in me, that life is anti sickness, anti frustration, anti depression. I activate and unleash the fullness of my new status into my life with the words of my mouth In Jesus name.
