I Corinthians 4:2 "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." Years back, I use to buy cooking gas from a company. The manager became close and we had a good relationship. On a certain day, he sold gas for me without issuing receipt. I paid and I insisted on collecting receipt but he declined vehemently. I stopped buying gas from that company for a while. After a very long time, I met the owner of the company. She begged me to patronize her company. The first question I asked her was about the manager of the company. She told me he had been fired because of unfaithfulness.
There are believers who are unfaithful at work especially in money matters. It pains me when I hear about how people entrusted with businesses and ventures take advantage of trust to wreck and mismanage companies. I was discussing with someone sometimes ago. I told her that doing business in our nation today, you need to be on ground to monitor what is going because someone in the system may take advantage of absence to engage in sharp practices.
We are all stewards. A steward is a servant that is entrusted with certain things. God has entrusted one thing or the other unto us and we must show ourselves to be faithful. When humans also entrust us with their properties or businesses, we should be faithful. Many years ago, companies look for Christians to employ but reverse is the case today. People now prefer to employ unbelievers because some of them are truthful. If they're looking for someone to trust with money, businesses and properties, it should be you.
