Back in the days, during our bible study meetings, we normally sing a song whose lyrics says: "I am standing on the word of God, the word of God is power". Old timers understand that power is locked up in the word but released when spoken.

Another way to release God's power to work in your favour is to speak the word of God thereby releasing the power inherent in it.

Luke 1:37 (ASV) says "For no word from God shall be void of power".

The written word of God( logos) is full of power. It is God's word to us and for generations yet unborn,  it is beyond print. Many seeking power have bibles but do not believe what is written in it. I am wary of those looking for power outside that which has been given in the written word and by the baptism of the Spirit. Any other power aside this is diabolic.

Hebrews 1:3 says, "who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power,..."

There is a connection between the spoken word of God and power. God himself did not establish creation until he spoke words that activated creative power. Throughout the life and ministry of Jesus, He only spoke the creative, life giving words of His Father. People saw and recognized the power and authority of Jesus’ word.

Luke 4:32 says,  "And they were astonished at His doctrine for His Word was with power".

In Matthew 8:5-13, the centurion knew the power inherent in the spoken word, he said,  “Speak the Word only and my servant shall be healed”. He did not beg for hands to be laid neither did he ask that Jesus pray on mantle, oil or water, just the spoken word from the mouth of Christ himself. That's all.

The primacy of God's word spoken cannot be overemphasized. Jesus says, “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life”(John 6:63).

The power of God is not in oil neither is it water or mantles. It is right there in the word of God. Make it a practice to speak God's word over life's situations. Even when it seems result is not immediate, just stay in faith and keep speaking God's word until you see result. That is how to make God's power work in your favour.
