I was in a meeting with some christian elders in the city of Asaba as a youth corper representating my fellowship as the state president then. After we introduced ourselves and the organization we represented, a man said to us that he regretted not knowing Christ as a youth.
He said that because I was the youngest among them and my office was enviable as a leader of young believers. He spoke with a tone of regret and I felt it where I seated. Though he was in Christ already at that time but he regretted not serving the Lord as a youth. In my opinion, he need not dwell on the past because the present is a present by God to make better decisions. Yesterday is gone into oblivion.
You need to know that you cannot do much about the past and correcting the mistakes you made but it is not late to do today what you ought to have done yeaterday. The present is an opportunity for you to correct, rebuild and lay another foundation for the future.
The present is a bridge between your past and the future. Those who understand and harness the power of today will never have any regret about tomorrow because we take care of tomorrow today.
The first thing you should do today is to seek the Lord. Build a solid relationship with him and get to know him intimately. The days are coming when you will draw from the well of fellowship and relationship of today.
On this is the foundation of the future built. If you do not want to regret tomorrow and tell tales of a failure, start with God. A fresh start is a good start after failing in the past. Your prime goal in the present should be "Lord, that I may know you".
In life's journey, the winds&storms will not sway those with a solid foundation in God. This is the time to seek and find him in the place of the word, prayer, personal&corporate fellowship. Develop strict consecrations that connects you to heaven. Now is the time to have spiritual routines.
