I noticed that most ladies have a small mirror in their bags which they use outdoor.
Often, they use the big mirror at home before going out and will still use the small mirror kept in their bags before entering a venue for an occasion. This is very common to the women folk.
They do this to be sure their outlook is intact especially their facial make-up. Some will laugh and be sure their expression in laughter is fine. Whatever isn't in order in their make up will be adjusted as they look at the mirror. This is how far people go with facial looks and beauty.
I hardly use the mirror but my wife does almost all the time. I dress up, comb my hair, cream my body and move out. I only stand in front of the mirror when I feel something is not right with my facial texture or may be when my eyes are itchy.
While that may not be the best attitude to the use of physical mirror, our spiritual mirror ( the word of God) requires some measure of addiction for our lives to align to God's will.
The word of God can be likened to a mirror. It has the power and potential to reveal to us who we are and how we look spiritually.
Just as most of our sisters won't step out without looking into the mirror, we should not neglect this all important mirror daily.
It shows to us our clear imagery. If you want to see yourself the way you are, get a bible and start studying it daily.
The word of God has an all-round application to all facets of our lives. You can assess your marriage, career, business, academics and ministry from the mirror of the word.
Some persons do not have time for the word, this neglect is the reason we have many baby Christians today. They go to church every Sunday and are actively involved in church activities but do not have time for personal study of the word and prayer.
From my observation, people in that category are often tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. It is not enough to look into the mirror, after seeing yourself the way you are, make adjustment.
Whenever you study the word, always ask yourself, 'is there any command/ injunction to obey'? If you study a portion of scriptures and you see certain things that aren't right with your life, simply adjust.
Studying God's word makes no sense unless we are transformed by it. The transformation comes as we obey what is written in the word.
