Some time ago, I discussed with a senior minister who relieved a much younger minister in his ministry from pastoral duties. His replacement made this young charismatic pastor speak bad about the action of the church leadership. He spoke to me about how unhappy he was with their decision.
I intervened by asking his seniors what went wrong. I was told about the several anti biblical practices he delved into which was against the stand of the church. He made special soap for people and imported some "Christopagan" practices into the church.
I thought I had heard it all not until when I was told he slept with a married woman for "prophetic work" as they normally call it. The lady confessed to the senior pastor that she was hypnotized by this pastor during the period they had affair. I have always asked why women are mostly the victims of fake prophets.
She said that her love for her husband vanished during those periods but her heart was drawn towards this preacher only. However, when the scale fell off her eyes, she exposed him. This story made the words of Jesus come alive.
Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. [16] You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles"?
It still baffles me why people look away from the fruit of a man's life and focus on his charisma and performance. The craze to see the miraculous and "experience" the unusual is often the reason most people fall victim of these phony men.
I am tired of hearing about women being molested by preachers and prophets. As a young preacher whose been in ministry from campus days, I know the anointing is an aphrodisiac for some ladies. They love to be around the prayerful, worded and anointed brothers.
Some older women who don't respect their husbands at home can do almost anything to show how they honour their "papa" because he is anointed. This unholy "honour" they are showing often becomes the precursor for other dishonourable acts.
Unfortunately, some single sisters have fallen victims of brothers who took advantage of them and still did not marry them. Sometimes, I ask what they were looking for. Some men also fall victim of fake prophets too just because they desperately want to see something happen.
If you become blind towards the life a man lives, his integrity and conduct, you might be a victim of his evil. Jesus has told us plainly how we can judge them without being judgemental- their fruit.
[17] A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. [18] A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.
Stop saying "I don't care about his life, all I want is miracle". "If God is not behind him, will he he performing miracles"? These are the statements of the undiscerning and simpletons.
