Recently, I shared a funny testimony someone shared with my wife. This woman said she has a younger brother who was overdue to be married. They had prayed and entreated him to marry but nothing happened.
According to her, she became happy when she heard the news that he impregnated a girl. For that reason, she stood to testify. I was stunned that she made that a public testimony.
In a world where we are discouraging "Baby mama&daddy", I don't think the youths should hear that. Left for some, getting pregnant out of wedlock is no big deal.
Getting pregnant is not the issue here but the path through which the pregnancy came. Culturally, I understand the joy of that family who had waited for their brother to get married who eventually impregnated someone after waiting for long. To them, it is double joy.
However, the path through which it came is not biblical. There was no marriage, he fornicated to achieve what could have been achieved righteously. The path was wrong according to scriptures.
A path is a way, a route that leads somewhere. Beyond the literal meaning it has, it refers to ways of doing things.
In the opening text, God has paths. His ways of doing things are clearly defined in scriptures. The hallmark of God's ways of doing things speaks of righteousness and justice.
"Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you" (Psalm 89:14 NIV)
The bible says, "The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does" ( Psalms 145:17 NIV).
Anything short of righteousness is not from God. The results may be good and pleasing to the eyes but it is surely not of God because he has a path through which he wants things done.
The distinctions we need to make in our generation is not between good and bad but between good and God. Somethings might be good but it may not be of/ from God.
God is not concerned about result as much as he is about the process. When the process involved in a thing does not align with ways, heaven will never celebrate such results. This is how things work in this kingdom.
