DO NOT HINDER THE SALVATION OF OTHERS

2 Corinthians 6:3 *We will not place obstacles in anyone’s way that hinder them from coming to salvation so that our ministry will not be discredited* TPT

I preach in public buses. In Lagos Nigeria, bus conductors can be very nasty. Some of them can talk to you in a way that will evoke a harsh response. It is rare to find a good bus conductor in Lagos. Sometimes, you have to be "mad" to cure their madness especially when they withold your change.

However, whenever I want to preach in the bus, I am conscious of the fact that an altercation with the bus conductor will make my message watery to my listeners and hinder the salvation of other passengers. So, I hold myself in and conduct myself properly.

We must be on guard in our conduct among sinners so that our witness of the gospel will not be weak. There is a way you'll leave among sinners and they will reject your message no matter how sound your message is.

Sinners do not care about how sound our theology is, they only care about how sound our conduct is.

Our life speaks volumes first before our words. Also, our dressing is a sermon to unbelievers, you may not believe this but it is true. I am a grassroot preacher. I relate with ordinary people and common men. My relationship with them made me realize dressing is a big deal to them.

You must be careful not to be offensive to those you want to preach to. Living among unbelievers, be courteous. Your words, conduct and dressing should not be offensive. Certain things may not be sinful but they are also not helpful in the cause of soul winning.

In 1 Corinthians 10:23, Paul says, "You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial" ( NLT).

If you truly love the Lord, you will sacrifice certain things for the gospel to spread through you, this include the entirety of your life. Be sensitive to things that will make the gospel a stench to unbelievers and even believers.

Paul says, "Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall" (1Cor 8:13).

Action Point:

Look at your life, check those things you might be doing that may hinder sinners and cut them off.
