Luke 14:28 “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?”
PLANNING AND PREPARATION
I read a funny story about the death of a king. When he died, palace guards spread the news of his demise around town but someone refused to believe their report. When asked why he didn't believe them, he said, "the king always prepare for everything but I never saw him prepare for death." That sounds a bit funny to me but there's a lesson in it for us. Anything that puts us on the waiting line requires adequate planning and preparation. Just think about those things you've been praying and waiting for all these years. As you wait for the "kairos" time of God for the manifestation of his promise, you must plan and prepare to be able to handle the responsibility that comes with that new phase of life. A wise man said, "proper prior planning prevents poor performance."
Some believers are waiting for "Kairos" time but they are not adding value to their lives in the place of planning and preparation. One thing that characterizes preparation is training and learning. For example, if God had told you that you'll Pastor a church of 20, 000 people with 1000 network of branches, that promise place upon you the burden of preparation and planning. The things you know and the skill-set you have when pastoring a church of 100 may not be relevant when the promised enlargement comes. That's why we have seen some people fizzle out in greatness while others have sustained and multiplied greatness. When you don't plan and prepare while waiting for "Kairos" time, you waste away with time. God may have told you that you'll marry a preacher with a global ministry but are you prepared for the huge responsibilities that comes with marrying a man that is "global" and travels almost all the time?
Sometimes, I'm tempted to think that in some cases, it is God that is waiting for us and not the other way round as we've always thought. The "Kairos" season for certain promises have come but you are not seeing anything because you're not prepared for it. God doesn't want you to make a mess of that new level, that may be the reason for certain delays. Are you truly prepared for parenting? While waiting, add value to your life and the expected new level of life through adequate training. Don't sit whining and waiting without doing anything. God rarely commit greatness into the hands of unprepared vessels. Yes, you may know one or two persons who got certain things cheaply and it seemed to you as if they didn't go through all you're going through presently. What I have to say about that is this, God deals with us individually based on the uniqueness of his plans and purpose for our lives so you don't compare yourself with others. For this period of waiting for "Kairos" time, heaven's demand on you may be proper planning and preparation.
Father, I receive the grace to plan and prepare adequately for "Kairos" time in Jesus name
