FELLOWSHIP
I have heard several people say, 'church is in my mind'. I've met people that do not value fellowshiping with other brethren. They think that assembling together with the saints is a place to go instead of becoming part of the body. Rhonda Stoppe said, "Church is not a place to go, rather it is a living body where God wants you to become a part––for your good and His glory." That's profound. We don't go to church to mark attendance register rather it is a place we should belong because our family members are there. The gathering of the saints is a family meeting where we get edification and necessary support.
In an ideal family, we don't neglect our siblings and parents. Thats just the way it is spiritually. Marvin A. Mickle said, "At the very center of the Christian life is the word fellowship. The Christian life is not a solo venture where each one of us works out our relationship with God in isolation from all other believers. The best part of being a Christian is being a part of the fellowship of the church where you are constantly involved with other believers in the service of God." Though there are good preachers and teachers on the internet, it can't be compared to being part of a body of believers where you meet physically in a location even if it is under a shed.
The church is a crucial place where you can get abundant supply of what is missing in your spiritual life. I cannot count the several encounters I've had with the Lord through the preaching and teaching of his word in a gathering of believers. Failure to identify with God's family may be the missing link in your life. Even if you have no other reason to attend church, the fact that it is a scriptural command is enough reason. The writer of Hebrews said, "And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near "Hebrews 10:25 NLT.
If you don't have a church you attend, prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to where you can fellowship with the saints.
