BUILDING STRENGTH THROUGH GODLY RELATIONSHIP
I am a beneficiary of godly relationships. I always thank God for surrounding me with spiritual people, those with depth and understanding in the things of the spirit. I have godly people as contemporaries and as fathers. I remember vividly the encouragement I received from some brethren when I faced a major challenge in my academics while on campus. It was challenging but hearing the people of God speak the total counsel of God to me refreshed my soul. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:".
Before the day of adversity comes, it is wise to build good relationships. I have been through the dark nights of despair and I've suffered rejection and disappointment severally. I know what it is to appear prim and proper and to look as though all is well in the eyes of the public because i don't want to discourage the brethren and cause panic so that their faith can remain firm yet secret battles abound. Even as a preacher of the gospel, I've had to cry under the weight of adversity that was too much for my humanity. I'm being real here.
Hey! We are not strong all the time. We all face life's troubles. I've learnt not to bottle my griefs ( though i don't show it publicly) so that I don't implode from within. I've gotten to the point where I needed counsel and encouragement even as a preacher. At that point, godly friends stepped in. Proverbs 18:24 says, "There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother." If you don't have friends that can hold you up in prayers and boost your faith in times of adversity, please jump ship. If what you have is a pity party (of friends) instead of a praying party, you're surrounded by the wrong persons. Woe unto him that is surrounded by wrong persons or is a lone ranger, for he shall not stand in the days of trouble.
Father, take the wrong people out of my life and surround me with godly people in Jesus name.
