GIMMICKS WON'T GET YOU A GODLY SPOUSE

Proverbs 19:14 Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD. NIV

A preacher shared with his congregation what he did before getting a spouse. He told his friends who were Pastors to be on the look out for a wife for him in their churches. On several occasions, some of his friends who were Pastors called him to come check several ladies out. When he got there, he wasn't pleased with them because they lacked what he was looking for in a wife. He struggled in the flesh because he was using gimmicks and human arrangement instead of trusting God to connect him.

Eventually, he got tired of searching through human recommendations. He decided to organize a reunion meeting of his secondary school class mates. He met his wife in that meeting and that was the end of his wild search. God is a master match-maker. He cannot fix you wrongly. You've paraded yourself before men for too long so that you can be noticed. What some sisters do to be noticed by brothers can be funny. When i was single, a sister sent her pictures to me via email. Another sister told me God told her to be praying for me. I was happy God raised an intercessor for me. It was during my birthday she told me about her intention. Some brothers have resorted into interviewing sisters via social media to ascertain if they fit their specification.

Do you think you'll get sincere and honest answers that way? If you ask a lady looking for husband if she love God, do you think she will say no? You'll discover that she loves all the things you love automatically because she can sense what you want to hear. Anyone can tell you what you want to hear the moment they sense desperation in you. You need to rest in God's eternal love and trust his ability to give you your spouse. The moment you exclude God from your search( which most people do), you'll resort to gimmicks. I love what King Solomon said, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT)
