Lk12:15-...for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses...
It is a common thing in our world to see men rated on the basis of their wealth&real estate. Everyone knows the richest man in the world today because the records are there for the public.
There's also the other side of it today in the kingdom, we also have records for the richest pastor, the church with the largest congregation and so on. Some believe If you have a large congregation, then you're called by God. That's a wrong yardstick to measure a genuine man of God.
The craze for evaluation&assessment has led many to pursue only earthly things without a consideration for eternity. Jesus is saying to you that what you truly worth isn't in the car or money that you have. The worth of a man can be measured by his eternal relevance.
Many men that are relevant on earth today are men unknown by God in His kingdom. The more of earthly things you pursue, the more your true worth in the kingdom is eroded. The principle of seeking the kingdom still stands true today as the only vital means of earning heaven's respect.
Seek the kingdom first.
