James2:13- For he shall have judgement without mercy, that hath shown no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgement.
The scripture above made it clear that those that don't show mercy will not receive mercy. Even Jesus made it clear that 'blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
The last line of that scripture is very striking, it simply implies that when judgement is hanging over a man or a nation, mercy can prevail. If a man deserves to die and the judge says he's pardoned, that is mercy at work.
We all need mercy to prevail over judgement. Sin attracts the judgement of God per time but mercy repels it. You can never over-pray for mercy. If I don't pray other things, I do my best not to forget to ask for God's mercy.
When you have tried to please God by strict principles, laws&rules, you may still fail. If you have to undo all your past&start afresh, you may still falter but when you rest your case in the hands of mercy, perfection is the result.
Father, have mercy upon me In Jesus Name.
