A colleague told me about an incident that happened on one of our campuses. A group of Christians went into the bush looking for rapture, some denied their parents, some ceased going for classes&even believed their spirit would write exams for them. They were told that if they eat certain food, they will know what's going on in heaven.
In my few years of being in the faith, I have seen and heard people who have flaming zeal&passion for the things of God, yet they are wrong in their zealousness because it is misguided and not based on the sound knowledge of God's word.
Anytime you engage in a spiritual venture or exercise that doesn't have a basis from God's word, it is likened to having zeal without knowledge. Do you know you can pray&fast without knowledge?
I have heard prayer points that aren't in line with God's word, they sometime sound like incantations&invoking of spirits. Some even exploit zealous people with these style of prayer but without knowledge. Get into God's word&get some knowledge.
Father, fill me with your knowledge In Jesus Name.
