DAVID'S PRAYER OF MERCY

June 29, 2013 · Lanre Oyeleke · 4 views

Psl51:1-Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

One of the most profound truth was sent to me via a chat by a brother, he said those that made it to heaven didn't make it because they were perfect but because received mercy.

I read about the story of a woman as God showed a brother in a revelation, this woman was standing before the angels to be judged but she was dirty(meaning there was sin in her life) but she saw the woman asking for mercy and also crying that Jesus should help her, suddenly while others were sent to hell, Jesus showed on the scene and cleansed her.

It was the prayer of mercy that the woman prayed while on the sick bed that saved her after death because such prayers can't be heard after death. All we need is mercy, if God takes away his mercies from the life of a believer, heaven is not in view.

That song writer said ' not the labour of my hands can fulfil thy laws demand'. I rest the case of my life and eternity with God on the wings of mercy. If its not by mercy, it can't be anything else. Do you think you qualify for heaven?

Remember the story of that publican and the pharisee in the temple. One was proving points to God on how he's been good but the other man beat his chest crying for mercy. I'll rather do that than try to prove a point to a Holy God.

Action point

Father, have mercy upon me In Jesus name.
