Rev 22:12 "Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. NIV
The end times are here. We don't need any prophet or seer to tell us the coming of Christ is nearer than ever. In his words in the book of Revelation, he said "Look, I am coming soon". How soon is what we don't know but it may be sooner than we think. As you read this devotional, the trumpet may sound for the gathering of the saints.
The saints of God are to live ready for the glorious appearing of the master. When he comes, we shall be like exactly like him. John said, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is", 1 John 3:2 KJV. The hope of his coming should be alive in us daily. That hope should should stir us into purity at all times. "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure", 1 John 3:3 KJV. That's what the hope of Christ's coming should stir in us.
The writer of Hebrews further enjoined that, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:",Heb 12:14. One of the messages that is becoming rare on altars today is about the coming of Christ yet we see from scriptures that the more we are reminded about this thing, the purer our lives will be. This year, I want you to live daily with the consciousness that Christ can come any time.
Father, I receive the grace to live ready for your coming in Jesus name.
