Ecclesiastes9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
Two men went to a diviner. They visited him to check their fortunes. The first was told that he'll be very rich. He was told that he would swim in wealth and become a sought after. The second friend was told that he'll be poor. In fact, the diviner said his poverty will make history. These two men left the diviner with different feelings. The first man was extremely happy while the second was sad. Very sad. When the first friend got home, he told his wife and family. They were happy. He decided to throw a party. He abandoned work and he began to live like a king expecting miracle money.
The other man thought to himself that he'll fight poverty with his last breath. He relocated to another village and he began to farm with all his might. After sometime, he got a breakthrough in farming. He became so wealthy to the extent that he could afford to feed the whole village. However, his friend's life had deteriorated in poverty. He became beggarly and couldn't afford to feed. He lived on the goodwill of his rich friend till he died.
This year, don't joke with work. Even in the garden of Eden where all things were made ready and supplied for Adam, God gave him a work to do. Man was designed to work even before the fall. Work was not invented after the fall. This year, don't be lazy. God's promise is to bless the work of your hands not your loitering around. I'm yet to see money come down from heaven like rain. Show great commitment to your business and if you're under a boss, be diligent in your work. Stop going late to work with the excuse of "I went to a vigil". Learn to strike a balance.
Father, I receive grace to be diligent in Jesus name.
