SOS2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
FORCES AGAINST VICTORY (A)
The devil works round the clock to ensure that those trapped in masturbation aren't set free. I was once entangled but blessed be God, I came out victorious. Quite a number of pious looking, tongue speaking and active persons in church may be wondering what is standing between them and gaining the final victory over masturbation. I want to expose those forces the enemy has set in motion to keep God's children bound to this addiction. The scripture enjoined that we expose the secret works of darkness and to have nothing to do with it: "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them", Eph5:11.
The first on the list is what I call force of secrecy. The devil makes victims of masturbation to keep their addiction as a secret from those that can help and hold them accountable. Anything you're hiding from a godly counselor(note the phrase "godly counselor) may end up destroying your life. The deceit of the enemy is to make you feel that you can handle it alone: "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective", James5:16.
Confiding in someone who can be of help with prayer and biblical counsel is vital. The earlier you realize that there are battles you cannot fight alone, the quicker your victory. Do not let pride shut your mouth from seeking help where necessary. The devil may tell you to keep shut because your status is too high to expose such. However, do not go about telling every Tom, Dick and Harry that you masturbate. Prayerfully look for a counselor, or someone mature in the things of God that can keep confidence with you. There must be someone you're accountable to, this is why we encourage believers to submit to a spiritual father/mentor.
Prayerfully ask God to lead you to someone that can keep confidence with you on the matter and help you out of it with godly counsel and prayer.
