Heb10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. KJV
The importance of a place of worship cannot be overemphasized. In shaping your year, you need to be part of a local church where you can draw spiritual nourishment. We live in the days of digital church. There's a high proliferation of online services and Christian programs on the internet. In a sense, this is good because it helps us to spread the gospel to people we may not be able to reach physically.
However, it has certain limitations which points to why meeting physically is important. For example, the issue of distraction while listening or watching an online service is a major set back. In physical meetings, there seems to be some control put in place to ensure maximum concentration. That doesn't mean you cannot discipline yourself to focus but more often than not, it is easier said than done. Also, the issue of network connection may pose a great challenge to us. There are villages without strong network for online streaming of services. We cannot exempt people in such places from worship because of modernization.
Dearest, you cannot grow fully into fullness of Christ if you're not properly fed with the word in a local assembly. If all you do is to hop from place to place on sundays or hook on to any online gathering in the name of fellowship, your spiritual growth will be stunted. You need to be under a true shepherd who can care, nurture and provide the necessary support for your spiritual well-being. Let truancy in God's house end with last year. Turn a new leaf this year.
Father, I receive the grace to identify and participate with a local body of believers for spiritual nourishment in Jesus name.
