Luke2:37- And this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
The scripture above was talking about Anna the Prophetess, she was eagerly waiting for the coming of the saviour. The testimony given about her was that she served God with fasting&prayer, the question is how did she do that?
Many of us only know how to fast&pray to serve ourselves and not God, our fasting mostly is focused on solving issues that are hard and we start a fast quoting Mark9:29 but in Acts13:2, we were told that some believers fasted&ministered unto the Lord,i.e, their fasting was focused on giving God what he wants- principally worship.
When they did that, God spoke to them. To serve God with fasting and prayer is becoming an alien culture in Christendom today, most of us fast to deal with demons but we are not fasting to worship God and tell him how much we love him, we most times hurl fire and brimstones on our enemies during our fasting period.
When next you fast, take out sometime to minister unto the Lord.
