Matt23: 27-28- Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!... Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
I read an article last week on hypocrisy and I quite agree to some extent with the writer's opinion whose proposition was that most preachers battle with one thing- hypocrisy. Aside that, I've come to discover that hypocrisy isn't a problem of preachers alone but most believers.
I use to think when you dress in 'christianized' way, you are automatically holy, I believe you know what I mean but from experience, I've come to understand that it is a very wrong way to assess the genuineness of one's life and character. I can't count brethren who preach holiness but practice filthiness.
Jesus was against the pharisee of his days who wear the 'pharisaic' religious robes but their inside is worse than a pit latrine. As a believer, God is expecting your life-style to conform to Christ not otherwise, also as a preacher, your mottoe should be 'imitate me just as I imitate Christ' and not 'do what I say don't do what I do'.
- Father, I receive grace to live a correct life In Jesus Name. Amen.
