Matt7:3- And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Jesus met a stubbornly set of hypocritical people (Pharisees) while doing ministry on earth, they were good at piling up loads of trouble, problems and religion on people, yet their life wasn't in total conformity with the law. A mote is just like a speck of dust while a beam is large.
Sometimes, we preachers are like the Pharisees, we seat to discipline others when they err in church and we are guilty of bigger offence(s). It is easy to preach holiness but not easy to practice it, some preachers hammer on restitution and lay a huge burden of it on people, yet the same people will tell you mercy has covered-up for their own sins so no need for restitute, that is pharisical.
If you want to stand properly on the platform of correction, God's word is saying your very life must be correct and not guilty of the same offence. Don't join the bandwagon of those that blame politicians for being corrupt when they themselves inflate figures, falsify age to get jobs and do all sort.
Before you deal with others, deal with yourself first. To correct others, your life must be correct first.
