Matt2:13-And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
Herod issued a decree that babies from age 0-2 years should be killed, God's angel spoke to Joseph to run away with baby Jesus and he obeyed. Joseph didn't wait behind to speak in tongues or pray down fire on those that wanted to kill Jesus, God knew all that wouldn't work at that time so he told him to run. There's a time to fight and there's also a time to run so as to avoid fighting unnecessary battles.
Dearest, the surest way to win a battle without fighting it is to obey God's instruction promptly. Don't question God and say 'but you have all powers, let me confront and conquer'. There is a time for confrontation and there's also another time to remain in hiding.
There was a time some Jews wanted to kill Jesus, we were told that he stylishly walked away amidst the crowd. He had the power to call down fire but he applied wisdom. Some battles we are fighting are avoidable if we had listen to God's instruction earlier.
- Father, I receive grace to listen to instructions so as to win certain battles without fighting In Jesus Name.
