Luke5:11-So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.
During the earthly ministry of Jesus, he called 12 men into discipleship and from records, they were men that had a job and I believe they were good at it. Someone said if Peter was living in our day, he'll likely be a Professor of fisheries and matthew would be a director at Inland revenue office because he was a tax collector in his days.
They were professionals but a superior call came from Jesus, he needed men that he would disciple and teach the things of heaven. He wanted to reproduce himself in them so he demanded them to leave whatever they were doing so that they'll follow him. God doesn't call idle men, note that.
God is calling you today into discipleship, the call of God upon our lives differ, he maybe demanding some to abandon secular job for ministry while he may be calling others to learn of him even while they are on their secular jobs. God wants you to drop something to enrol as a follower.
Be sensitive to know what God wants you to forsake in other to follow Christ.
